ironplasma17 of course I shall reply, it would be rude otherwise!!
I like the thought of swapping one land for one Scavenger Grounds. Which means I might adapt the side and swap Thopter Arrest for Desert's Hold.
I also like the suggestion of Path of Mettle and shall add 3 to the sideboard against go wide strategies. Dropping this on Turn 3 alongside a Cartouche to buff a guy to avoid losing the creature could be a viable thing and provide a late game win con/mana-sink.
Thanks for the suggestion!!

BoibJuruncle how is this not a Dominaria deck?? This deck is predominantly a Saproling/Fungus tribal deck with some black removal spells. Before DOM in standard there was one card that made Saprolings, and that's the only creature that isn't a DOM creature.
In terms of budget there are only a select few 'money' cards. If you wanted to re-create the deck all you would have to remove would be the Rhonas', the fatal push's, the Vraska's and the Contempt. Removing these would greatly reduce the cost of the deck whilst still keeping the shell of the theme.
In terms of standard costing though the deck is still quite budget. It's not like the decks running 3 Karn which a lot of Decks do these days. (Btw Karn is currently $65+) three of these bad boys would cost more than the entirety of the deck.
In terms of constructive feedback for SurfinLarry I'd suggest increasing a lot of the 2-ofs and 3-ofs up to the full playset. There are certain cards that the deck just can't live without including:
Sporecrown Thallid (This is the most important to have as a 4 of as it boosts all your little dudes, Lords are some of the most important creatures in a tribal deck)
Saproling Migration (This card is great and can be used both early and late game)
Yavimaya Sapherd (Any card that is a 2-4-1 is good value. Meaning that even if your opponent removes the card there is still a body left over, meaning they also need to spend mana/spells to remove the additional threat)
Hope this helps.

Yes it gets better value protecting a 2 or 3-drop creature later in the game on turn three or four. However if you can play it on turn one then you should, targeting itself with its ability. (This has some minor uses e.g sacrificing it means no Lifegain on a life link creature etc.)
Your choice of Fanatical Firebrand doesn't fit the theme of the deck, you're not playing mono-red aggro, It will quickly get outclassed by other creatures, the only upside is being able to sacrifice it for an extra point of damage.
I suppose another choice could be Bomat Courier. Yes it has the similar problem with Firebrand that it shall get outclassed quickly. However if it manages to get two or three swings in then when you have dumped your hand on the battlefield it can re-fill your empty hand for only single red mana. This is a more preferable ability over the Firebrands.
Those are the two options I would go with as a replacement for tragic poet. Either one or the other, but not a 50/50 split.

Hi ironplasma17 I shall be trying this out on paper at my local FNM the first chance I get. I don't really play any online variants.
So Yes I shall be posting updates. My biggest worry/concern is the number of lands. 20 may be too few. So that may be changed. But if you have any other suggestions it'd be appreciated :).

The biggest weakness of a Voltron Deck is removal. There are several ways around this in RW at the moment in order to make your deck resilient. And these are:
Adanto Vanguard. Yes it costs life to make indestructible, but your life total is a resource and is an aggressive guy to put your Enchantments on.
Dauntless Bodyguard. This guy is aggressively costed and can chip away for decent damage for just one mana. He also protects your late game wins like Champion of Flame, Sram or Valduk.
Sheltering Light. A handy little cantrip again for keeping your key creatures alive with a slight upside of card selection with the scry.
What I'd take out/don't favour in this deck:
Artifacts, I think they're slow and clunky and you should focus on Enchantments. But that would change the deck considerably so that's your call.
Tragic Poet. This guy is just way too slow for the deck. Sure you get an Enchantment back at the cost of a creature. I'd swap this guy out.
Devenant Tracker. Again it's costly for three Mana. Adanto Vanguard attacks for The same amount of damage and is one mana cheaper. If you're that bothered about tapping things down there are other alternatives to this:
These are just a few ideas that you can feel free to use or not use as you wish that hopefully don't change the shell of the deck too much and are still in-keeping with the budget aesthetic.

Because the deck is so cheap and there isn't a card more expensive than 3 Mana I'd suggest try cutting your lands down to 20 adding one more Sram and two Sheltering Light and try it that way and then adjust accordingly after you've tested it a bit to see if 20 is too low. The few variations I have on paper play 20 land.
If this doesn't work try 21 lands and adding just two Sheltering Light and keep your Sram at 3.

Thanks for taking my suggestions into account :).
I'd suggest playing Sheltering Light as well as Dauntless Bodyguard. Not instead of. You need to have as much protection for your win cons as possible.

Like Knight of Grace is great Vs any black deck so it'll be a sideboard card fo' sho', but for the most part Vanguard will be better against a larger variety of decks :).

Hey man, I like the deck and I'm working on my own Voltron-esque deck.
When considering removal for the sideboard or even main-board I'm going to suggest Compulsory Rest it triggers Sram as it's an aura and shuts down blockers. The life gain is negligible.
Obviously this type of deck is susceptible to removal and Dauntless Bodyguard helps with this. However I'd relegate Knight of Grace to the sideboard and main board Adanto Vanguard as it is also resilient to removal. Another way to protect your key creatures is Sheltering Light :).
Just a couple of ideas, feel free to use them or not :).

Sinner2000 thanks for the advice :) :). When creating this deck I initially considered Oketra's Monument but considering the deck wants to win as quickly as possible I'm reluctant to take a turn off by casting a 3-drop that doesn't add anything to the board. Plus considering I have 8 one-drops and Marshal it won't make everything cheaper.
However your other two other suggestions are great!! I'll look to put Regal Caracal in the sideboard.
With Angel of Invention I've been considering swapping Shalai out for something and this could be the perfect late game bomb. I feel like I'd need two however. Anything else to suggest swapping it with other than Shalai??

Hey man, like the deck a lot!! I'm currently in the process of creating one myself and can't decide between going UW or RW or maybe even full Jeskai. I never considered Fling however this shall definitely be added to my deck.
However I do have a few suggestions.
I'm not big on Artifacts in this sort of deck. You basically want to attack big and quick and equipments are just a bit too slow and clunky. So I'd drop them and also drop Danitha Capashen, Paragon as well because your Enchantments are cheap enough as it is.
Because I'd drop Equipments I'd go deeper on Enchantments, I'd include Cartouche of Solidarity it's a great one drop!! Makes blocking your creatures difficult and comes with another body.
Spot removal as you have discussed is a bitch against this deck. It's a bit of an 'all in' type deck, this can be mitigated in some ways. I'd include a playset of Adanto Vanguard it's an aggressive creature that is also resilient to removal. I'd also increase up by 1 on the number of Dauntless Bodyguard's you play to the full playset. Another handy card it run a couple of to protect your guys is Sheltering Light good for protecting your win cons.
Also because you're weak to removal you want all your Enchantments to gain you value so I'd go up to the full playset of Sram, Senior Edificer. Yes I realise it's legendary but you really need to have one and it NEEDS to stick around so even if your opponent removes one you need a high chance of drawing another, it will just draw you a bunch of cards and keep your ball rolling.
Also in terms of removal I'd relegate Seal Away to the sideboard and instead play a few copies of Compulsory Rest. It shuts down their guy completely and sure they can gain 2 life, but that means they're spending more mana, and your guys are gonna be hitting for so much more damage. Also importantly it is an aura so you can draw a card from Sram whereas Seal Away is just an Enchantment.
These are just a few ideas, feel free to use or not use them as you see fit. I could just be talking nonsense.

Hi, I like the concept of this deck and I'm wanting to create either a Boros or a Azorius version myself. I have a number of ideas of how to alter this deck so bare with me, I'll try not to make it a stream of thought.
The idea of your deck is to win as quickly as possible smashing face with pumped creatures. Therefore Artifacts in general are going to be too slow. I'd cut them completely and focus just on Aura' s.
As you no longer have a 'reoccurring' source of buffing your creatures through Artifacts that can be re-equipped if creatures die I would then increase your number of Dauntless Body Guard's to 4 in order to protect your late game threats.
Your creature count overall wants to be lower, these sorts of Decks tend to play a select few good creatures and then the remainder being Auras with very little removal. I'd suggest something like:
Maybe keep one Shalai?? If your opponent can't answer it then your pumped guys are protected.Sram is a must have in this sort of deck as it'll really help you keep the ball rolling as all your auras will draw you cards enabling you to play more auras :).
I'd recommend atleast removing some of your other creatures if you don't want to run the above set. These include:
Baird - he just seems very expensive and against your game plan. You don't care about your opponents being able to attack you because you're going to be smashing face so much and winning quick.Danitha - on the face she seems good, but there's other things to do on turn 3 and some Enchantments that I'm going to suggest are cheap enough as it is.Teshar - you aren't really playing enough Artifacts/legends to make this 4 mana 2/2 worthwhile.Skirk Prospector - this more needs to go in a goblin deck. I can see the upside of being able to ramp a little, but I'm not sure on this little dude.
In terms of Enchantments there's quite a few available to you in the RW colour wheel, these include:
Cartouche of Solidarity - this is a 2-4-1 leaving behind a 1/1 even if your guy gets killed. The +1/+1 and first strike is nothing to sniff at either making blocking your dude difficult.
Cartouche of Zeal - haste +1/+1 and a creature can't block this turn is great for a big blow out with either of your big aura fatties.
You've already included Frenzied Rage which seems good and makes your guys even harder to block :D.
Consuming Fervor seems like a good choice as well, you'll have got in for so much damage that the fact that you have to sacrifice your creature seems like a pay off you'd be willing to pay. Plus you have 8 legendary cards so you may have redundancy in your hand.
Other stuff. These can include Legion's Landing a life link dude and the potential to make even more. Lightning Strike, Seal Away andBaffling End as premium removal, but You don't want too much as it'll take away from your game plan.
Sorry about the splurge of ideas. Feel free to take or leave as much of it as you want :).
