I started playing mtg when 5th edition was the new set and quit somewhere between september 2002 and december 2003. So in terms of sets, I believe somewhere between the releases of Onslaught and Mirrodin. There were no card shops that had play space within reasonable driving distance and the already tiny MTG community in my area was dwindling at the time. I then put my focus on other hobbies and interests...

...Until December 2015 when some friends of mine that I've played D&D; with over the years, started to dust off their old decks and play a bit of magic here and there. This piqued my interest and Thats when I found a great way to play with multiple people at a time. EDH!!! I fell head over heels for this format and tried my damnedest to get my friends on board. It didn't take a whole lot of coaxing. Now we have a playgroup of about 8 members who get together almost every single week.

My cards were stolen around the time I had quit unfortunately. A friend of mine helped me get a start by giving me a few boxes of cards to pick through and sell. Through online store trade ins and a little bit of pucatrading, I got my start on my first commander deck.

Two years since I've returned and I'm still playing EDH. I play casual with the group of friends I started with and I also play competitive online. For most of 2017 I was brewing and tuning competitive Edric-flying-men-turns and have since co-wrote the Edric primer with Simon of the Laboratory Maniacs.

JohnnyCRO As always, thanks for being quick to answer on my behalf, when I'm not around.

Noelqkazoo There is nothing I can add here really. Johnny has answered with the same response I would have made. If you are interested in Edric, anywhere from casual to the most cutthroat competitive; we would love to have you take part in our discussions over at the Edric Discord.

Come on in and don't be shy.

Kiyomei Hey there! So we go into more detail in our primer, but I think the cards that give us the most trouble are Tabernacle, Stranglehold, Trinisphere and Elesh Norn. I may be forgetting a few but these are very noteable.

As for your second question. 1 CMC would probably be the most effective against us.

If you're doing research, I would definitely recommend checking out this resource and reading as many primers as you can. This will probably end up being your holy grail of cEDH resources.

Hope this helps(tbh its probably the biggest help you'll get lol.)
