Zur the Enchanter question

Asked by Crayonmuffin 8 years ago

Reading Zur the Enchanters effect I just wanted to clear something up. His effect says to put the enchantment onto the battlefield, not cast it. So if he has shroud and you trigger his effect, can you "put" another enchantment on him even though he's shrouded? Haven't seen it work in action.

Gatherer entry for any card usually has the answer you seek:

7/15/2006: If you use Zur the Enchanter's triggered ability to search for an Aura, it will be put onto the battlefield attached to an appropriate permanent. It doesn't target that permanent. If no appropriate permanent exists for it to be attached to, that Aura can't be put onto the battlefield and stays in your library.

Shroud cares about targeting. Unless cast, auras do not target.

I must've looked over it, oops. Thank you. Makes him much better than I thought he was.
