Willbreaker + Epic Confrontation
Asked by DruneGrey 8 years ago
Wanted to confirm this interaction works as I expect.
On Board:
Me: Willbreaker
Opponent: A 1/1 soldier token
I cast Epic Confrontation Targeting my Willbreaker and the token.
This triggers Willbreaker's ability which gets put on the stack.
I gain control of token.
Epic Confrontation resolves, because my Willbreaker is still a valid target it gets +1/+2 until EoT.
Because the token is no longer a valid target they don't fight.
Just wanted to confirm I'm not confusing this.

Remember to check the Gatherer rulings before posting a question. Gatherer rulings include FAQs and other relevant clarifications that answer most questions typically asked about specific cards.
2/25/2015: If the creature you control is an illegal target as Epic Confrontation tries to resolve, the creature you control won't get +1/+2. If that creature is a legal target but the creature you dont control isn't, your creature will still get +1/+2. In both cases, neither creature will deal or be dealt damage.
