Sol Ring in modern

is Sol Ring legal in modern if so why don't I hear about it?

A card is only legal in Modern if it was printed in one of the sets listed on this page (and also not specifically on the Banned List). Re-prints in supplemental products (Commander decks, Duel Decks, Conspiracy, etc.) don't count, and neither do special promo versions or Masterpiece versions. Sol Ring was never printed in any of the Modern-format sets, so it isn't legal in Modern.
