Shadows of the Past?

Asked by Wisthunder 8 years ago

If I have four Shadows of the Past on the battlefield and a creature dies and is sent to the graveyard, do I get to scry 4? How can I tell if abilities stack/add onto themselves on other cards as well?

Triggered abilities, even on the same copy of a card, do not stack. Instead, they actually trigger one after the other. If they are triggered by the same event and you control those triggers (as is the case here), you also get to choose the order in which they resolve. It does not matter in this case as the stack will look like this:

scry 1 > scry 1 > scry 1 > scry 1

You get to scry 1 four separate times. Another notable example of such interactions is exalted (most notably Sublime Archangel).
