Panoptic Mirror Abilities

Asked by Adams880 9 years ago

So, am I correct in saying that if I play Panoptic Mirror and decide to use Time Warp for its imprint, do I have to pay 5 mana for Panoptic Mirror and then another 5 for the X mana cost of the Mirror's imprint ability?

Because we all know Panoptic Mirror + Time Warp is game over.

Yes, you are right. Although, to make it really badass, you should use Time Walk . Heh, just kidding.

I would love to... However, that isn't legal for Modern.... ;)

You only have to pay 5 mana to imprint Time Warp once, and that's when you're imprinting Time Warp onto Panoptic Mirror . Then you can choose Time Warp to be cast (without paying its mana cost) at the beginning of your upkeep if you like.

I'd be willing to be that it's shenanigans like this that got Panoptic Mirror banned in EDH.
