Is Steel Hellkite a token killer?

Because of Steel Hellkite's activated ability of destroying everything dealt damage with it with a certain mana cost, so could I simply pay no mana and destroy all creature tokens that player controls?

You can pay 0 mana to kill all tokens.

Always read the Gatherer rulings before posting a question.

1/1/2011: If a nonland permanent has no mana symbols in its upper right corner (because it's a token that's not copying of something else, for example), its converted mana cost is 0.

1/1/2011: If Steel Hellkite's third ability is activated with X equal to 0, it will destroy each nonland permanent with converted mana cost 0 the appropriate players control.

Note that if a token is copying something, it inherits the mana cost of the thing it's copying, so it won't necessarily have CMC 0.

Just remember to keep in mind that even though the cost is free, you can only activate the ability once per turn, so if you choose to kill the tokens, you can't use that ability again to kill other stuff until next turn.
