Standard format is the two most recent Block of 3 sets (Currently Theros Block & Return to Ravnica Block) as well as the Core set between them (currently core set M14) Also, just after a new core set is released, it is also considered to be standard along with the previous core set until the next Block starts.

The current allowed sets are therefore (in order from oldest to newest)Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, Dragon's Maze, Magic 2014, Theros, Born of the Gods, Journey Into Nyx & Magic 2015 Core Set.

Sadly, M13 is out of play, however, Jace has been re-printed in M14, so is still standard legal until the next set is released late September. You can always check if a card has been re-printed by checking out the sets list of the card on the gatherer.

It is worth noting that you can use any printing of a card, as long as that card exists within the format.
