Inalla's exile trigger

Asked by wereotter 6 years ago

In this scenario, let's say I'm playing a commander game with Inalla, Archmage Ritualist as my commander and have just cast any wizard while already having a Vodalian Illusionist in play.

At the end of turn, with Inalla's exile trigger on the stack, can I then activate the illusionist's ability to phase out the token and keep it indefinitely?

Yes, that works. The delayed trigger created by Inalla's ability is written in a way such that it will only trigger once and the token still continues to exist after it phases out (which is actually a change from previous versions of the rules).

Thanks! I saw the rule changed over the summer regarding tokens continuing to exist while phased out, just wasn't positive how her trigger worked with phasing.
