If I activate Humble Defector, while the ability is on the stack can I use Collateral Damage to sac it, do I still draw the cards?

If I activate Humble Defector, while the ability is on the stack can I use Collateral Damage to sac it, do I still draw the cards when the ability resolves, but then the creature is dead so my opponent doesn't get it?

Always check the Gatherer:
11/24/2014 If Humble Defector isnt on the battlefield as its ability resolves, but the target player is still a legal target, the ability will resolve. Youll draw two cards, even though the player wont gain control of Humble Defector.
