Does not specify which one?

I know this is probably a dumb question, but if a card has an activated ability that says in its name gains/does something, and you control more then one, does it have to be the original one that gains it?

example, Lux Cannon's first tap ability says to add a charge counter to Lux Cannon, but it does not say THIS Lux Cannon, so if I control more then one, could the charge counter be added to a different one?

When a card uses its own name in the text of an ability and doesn't specifically say something like "card(s) named NN" then it just means "this object, right here". In your example a Lux Cannon can only put charge counters on itself, not any card named Lux Cannon.
