Do you lose the arcane spell?

Asked by Bobby654 8 years ago

Here's where I'm going with this. Say I used Horobi's Whisper and spiced onto it is Goryo's Vengeance Do I lose Goryo's Vengeance or does the spell stay in my hand so I can use it for later

Goryo's Vengeance would go to the graveyard, because you are casting the card. If you splice on Horobi's Whisper, you actually aren't casting the card. The reminder text on Splice onto Arcane says:

"...Reveal this card from your hand and..."

You aren't actually casting that card. You are merely adding what that card does to the Goryo's Vengeance. So the vengeance would go to the grave, and the whisper would stay in your hand.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure how splice onto Arcane worked since I started playing after it wasn't around anymore

Just to be clear, if you cast Horobi's Whisper and spliced goryo's vengance on to it Horobi's Whisper would go to the graveyard and goryo's vengance would stay in your hand. The question and the answer (which is right in terms of how splice works) seem to jumble which card is spliced and which one is cast.
