Can you pay more than one Energy for Voltaic Brawler per attack?

When you attack can you pay multiple energy for Voltaic Brawler or can you only pay one per turn?

You can only pay a single energy counter for each time it triggers.

When Voltaic Brawler attacks, its second ability goes on the stack. When it goes to resolve, you have the choice to either pay an energy counter or not. If you do, it gets +1/+1 and trample until end of turn, and if you don't, the ability resolves without doing anything.
