Can you exile tokens before they fizzle from a graveyard?

I was just curious if you could exile a creature token, for something like Scrapheap Scrounger, before it fizzles

No. When state based actions are checked, one of the actions is seeing if a token exists in a zone other than the battlefield and if so, it ceases to exist. You cannot respond to this nor do anything before it happens.

In addition, Scrapheap Scrounger exiled a card. A token is not considered a card, therefore even if you could somehow activate his ability with the token in the grave, you couldn't interact with it anyways.
