Can I double the effect of Mina and Denn?

Asked by Leipreachaan 8 years ago

I'm playing a Landfall deck, so being able to put as many lands possible on the battlefield in the same turn is quite vital for me. I have 2 Mina and Denn, Wildborn in my deck, it's a legendary creature and the effect that's interesting here is "You may play an additional land on each of your turns"

So, I have one Mina and Denn on the battlefield, I put down a land, than an other because of it's effect. If I sacrifice Mina and Denn and put the other Mina and Denn from my hand, can I put a third land down?

Please use double square brackets to link cards. It saves everyone time and trouble because you don't have to explain everything and the readers don't have to go look everything up.

This was possible under an earlier version of the rules, but currently it won't work.

The way the game handles land plays is basically this: how many lands you've already played is compared to how many active effects are currently changing the number of lands you're allowed to play. In this situation you've already played 2 lands. The current effects allowing you to play lands are 1 from the rules of the game and 1 from the "new" Mina and Denn, Wildborn. The "old" Mina and Denn don't matter; they're gone from the battlefield. You don't have any more available land plays this turn.

Thanks for the answer, and sorry for the brackets :)
