Aurelia and Fellhide

Asked by KingofBarcelona 10 years ago

If I have Felhide Spiritbinder on the field with Aurelia, the Warleader and I attack with both, can I use Felhide Spiritbinder s inspired ability to create a new Aurelia, the Warleader , sacrifice the old one and get an additional combat phase? I believe this because the copy of Aurelia, the Warleader is a new being with no recollection of the previous combat phase. Would this give me an infinite chain of combat steps considering I had enough mana and the creatures are never destroyed.

It works, but it doesn't actually matter that the token doesn't remember the first combat phase. All that matters is that the token never attacked during that combat phase.

Also, the legend rule doesn't cause anything to be sacrificed. The permanent(s) is/are merely put into their owner's graveyard as a state-based action.

Thank you. I thought you did sacrifice one of the copies for the legend rule. I will have to read it over. Thanks again Epochalyptik

You do lose the extras, but they aren't sacrificed. Sacrificing is a specific game action, and the legend rule doesn't cause anything to be sacrificed.

Huh. Well that's an interesting EDH idea to build around...
