I'm having trouble with the deckbuilder not recognizing cards, such as Axebane Guardian or Golgari Cluestone . I typed it the exact same way into the card search and it showed them so why didn't the deckbuilder recognize them/

They work perfectly fine for me.

I did eventually get it to work but for a time they were not recognized and I couldn't figure out why

Issue number one: Spelling Mistakes and formatting mistakes. This is the only reason why the deck-builder would toss an error at you, and it generally doesn't give an indication as to why the error occurs, or possible solutions to the error.

I do occasionally have issues with the card database not recognizing Zendikar printings of lands.

For example, when I go to save my deck the page will tell me that it cannot recognize "Island [ [zen ]" even when I format it correctly with one bracket on each side, etc. This happens from time to time and goes away soon afterwards.

Try putting down just [ZEN]. Only one square bracket set, and all caps letter. With a space after the card name.

Yep, that's what I do. It has, for the most part, stopped happening, but occasionally it presents an error message saying that I typed something I didn't.
