So how do you get better deck ratings? I get the views but it just ain't the same as getting better deck ratings. Has it hit the point where all decks have been made? Just curious on why people don't vote or rate it or even just comment..

There's an article on my profile page that covers how to get more views (and ratings) on your decks.

In general, though, ratings don't really mean anything. Sure, they're nice to have for validation, but they aren't an indicator of your deck's quality. Comments are really what will help you.

I would

NOT

take it very seriously.

Just check out what the top decks are ...

That being said, I do think that there may be some people on the site who avoid giving a +1 to either (A) something that reminds them of something they saw before, or (B) something that falls under the umbrella of someone who is an expert on that type's turf / territory, or (C) someething that smacks of being an inferior build with shortcuts taken on land bases or other "key cards" for a deck type.

Or sometimes it is a matter of some other social politics / dynamics.

I certainly am not racking up the votes here either. I have had a few moments where for w/e reason people decided to pay attention, but those have been few and far between.

In general, I think there are far more people who want attention for themselves and far less people who are giving attention to others.

There are other good features of this site. I got excited about the cataloging power recently, but plan to soon put most of the stuff back to private since no new interest was sparked by doing that and I don't care to just inform anyone I might play against too much about what exactly I have for no other trade off / value. Take a good look while you can.

It isn't a ragequit thing, it's just a strategic thing. Posting up what you are up to is potentially useful and potentially risky. If all the focus shifts from the usefullness to the risky part, time to shut er down!

Just enjoy the rest of the site and who knows, someone might find something you have interesting some day. Wish I could be more helpful - but you are not alone in this.

btw: you will soon get blasted about things like having a catchy deck name and good description and w/e else ... but really ... just look at what the most upvoted decks are ... and then sit back and chill ... smile and nod, smile and nod, etc.

thank you Epochalyptik your words of wisdom helped me out on this question. I wasn't loosing sleep over it and it makes since why the votes don't happen. I was just really wondering if there was something I was doing wrong or if there was something that I could do to get the votes. Name of good decks is really all it needs.

Back when I first started racking in the points for my decks when modern was fringe there were really a few main things gave me lots of points.

  1. Creative deck title.
  2. Long detailed and well thought out description.
  3. Use Feature Tokens.
  4. If using feature tokens, have a short opening hook that shows on the feature preview.
  5. Be an upgraded user (with a fancy username).
  6. Be active in the community.

Any of my decks are excellent examples for number 2. Nowadays numbers 3 and 4 are important as deckcycling is no longer as effective as it once was. Numbers 5 and 6 certainly help me get around 10 votes the moment I make a deck.
