Looking for noob decks
Deck Help forum

I have a few friends who want to play this wonderful game. I have them playing Duels Origins and Magic 2014 DotP. They say they are soon wanting to play paper. So I'm thinking on building several decks that are simple and show what each color does as well as the basic thing each guild does.
So if anyone can direct me to some deck lists or anything it would be appreciated.
Mono white I was thinking weenie
mono green ramp and fatties
black zombie death and maybe reanimate
blue control and evasion
red burn and aggro.
Dimir, mill
Selesnya, tokens
Boros, aggro burn
Azorius, control
Rakdos, Aggro
Simic, ramp and counters?
Orzov, enchantments?
Gruul, ramp and fatties
Golgari, Kill and graveyard effects
Izzet, maybe artifacts? Control and burn?
I'm open to anything really. I just want to show diffrent playstyles and archetypes so they can get a handle on the game little by little.
Any help is appreciated as always!

Don't make the mistake of overwhelming them with too many options. Really, you can keep it simple and do something like only allied guilds or something.

Personally... I started a few months ago... and I started with an event deck (mine happened to be Theros). They're a good (arguable) preconstucted deck that your friends won't have to collect themselves, and there's a pamphlet inside that gives tips on strategy on how to play it.
In my story, I enjoyed the Theros event deck quite a bit, and as I played more, I started replacing cards in it with ones I liked better, and when I decided I wanted to play Standard FNM, I researched some cards to substitute in to make it standard legal... and after all the other decks I've build... that blue/white heroic is still my primary FNM deck... it's still my favorite deck to play... and it's the one I'm taking to a local tournament on Saturday.

I wouldn't go all the way with making a deck for each color and guild, but I would start with an aggro, a midrange and a control deck and once they're familiar with that (or maybe they are already) continue with some current archetypes. Then they'll get to know what type of decks they can encounter and how to play with and against them. If you show them U/B as mill, they're gonna get surprised when they play an UB control deck and don't get to play any spell and stare at an empty board.
With the archetypes you can explain what role the colors play in it, and they can see right away that red is the aggro deck and that a combination with green is usually a midrange deck, and that blue usually is the center of a control deck.

Your Local Game Store (LGS) should have 40 card decks that are supplied by WOTC to them. They are great for finding out what your preferences are, but since they are already playing Duels, your people should know what they prefer.First option, participate in a prerelease event.
They are the best starting point for new-ish players of the game and provide great value for the investment and a lot of fun. The nearest one is in 2 months, giving you ample time to prepare. That prerelease will also mark a new Standard season, one of the most popular formats in paper magic, and you will join the new season right from its start.
If that is not appealing, try option 2.
Instead, select a LGS you plan to frequent and ask them what format is their usual Friday Night Magic tournament. That way, you will know what format to build for, an invaluable tool, since building for the wrong format can spell doom and make your investment not worth it.
Finally, look around this very site for the playstyle and format that you have selected, build some decks and head out to FNM.

Firstly, u do realize that those guild's mechanics are no longer in standard.I would just pick up 5 sample decks (free) from your local games store.

Anonymoose01 just because a guild mechanics are no longer in Standard doesn't mean I can't play an Azorious deck.

Thank you all for the replies! Helps out a lot!
I was thinking of having them do a sealed deck from a booster box or Origins, but they seem intimidated by the pack opening and building. So I figured building several decks could help them understand different strategies and synergies that can go into deck building.
Seems like a lot think it HAS to be standard, to which I say, why restrict the fun? Its for teaching a few friends the game and different styles of play. I'm not trying to get them onto the next standard PTQ or anything lol.
So thanks everyone for the deck ideas and all the help! It is very much appreciated!!

EpicJ7 This is my very first deck. Budget Mardu Mid It only cost cost $20 dollars its a Mardu Midrange, that kind of teaches them how to use a 3 color deck. I won 3-1 with this deck when I just started.

EpicJ7 Heres another one GREEN Giant. Its a mono green devotion deck, doesn't really rely on spells. It Cost $25, and is insane for a beginner. Once you have a boat load of forests they all turn into 3/3 creatures.
