I've always thought of Gemstone Caverns as something exclusively for all-in combo decks but I've been playing with this Bant Slivers deck recently and it feels like being on the play is extremely important for the deck and it seemed like adding a 1-of Caverns could effectively increase the chances of that. I'd probably have to replace a spell for it, though, because I don't exactly want to go below 20 reliable coloured sources in the deck.

I've never played with Gemstone Caverns before though, so is there anything I missed about it? Does anyone have any experience with it in an aggro deck? I certainly wouldn't be opposed to feedback on any other aspect of the deck too.

So, the thing is. An Aggro deck wants to win as quickly as possible. Like the top 8-12 cards should be all it needs to win ideally.

Gemstone eats one of those cards. Reducing the chance.

So are you saying you don't think it's correct to trade cards for extra speed in an aggro deck?

I'm saying, the downside isn't worth it. Given it is a colourless land at base, it eats a card from your hand to give you the speed boost and as a one of, is generally unreliable. Any speed it gives, is negated by the fact it gives you 1 less card to kill your opponent with.
