Custom Cards forum

Trying to make a custom planeswalker for each of my friends that plays Magic. We're primarily an EDH group so these will be balanced for multiplayer.

Shane, the Mediator 4 Loyalty

+2 Return target creature to its owner's hand. Each player may draw a card.

-3 Prevent all combat damage until your next upkeep.

-10 Gain an emblem that says the following. You gain Hexproof. Instants and Sorceries you control are uncounterable. Creatures can't attack you unless their owner pays for each attacking creature they control that is attacking you.

I mean, creates a three card combo that locks out combat damage for the rest of the game, but those already exist so it's not that broken.

The wording could use a touch up but it's not bad. I don't even like pillow forts and I would use it.

Cool idea. I think the last ability should be worded like this:

-3 You get an emblem with "You have hexproof. Instants and sorceries you control can't be countered by spells or abilities. Creatures can't attack you unless their controller pays for each creature he or she controls that's attacking you."

Thanks for the suggestion on the wording Redace. I knew it sounded off but I've been a bit busy too look up the proper phrasing for that ruling.

Redace878, a mere 3 loyalty for such a powerful ability is too little, in my mind; Verstaka was right to have it cost 10 loyalty, because emblems permanently alter the state of the game, and this one make its owner extremely powerful.

Also, how do I post a loyalty cost? What is the code for it?

DemonDragonJ Oh yeah, that was supposed to be a minus 10 ability, I looked at the wrong thing. The code for loyalty abilities is [symbol:loyalty-plus#] or [symbol:loyalty-minus#] or [symbol:loyalty-initial#]. (# is the number)

Redace878, thank you very much; is there a button on the new post window for that symbol, or does it need to be entered manually each time?

I don't think so, I've just been typing it in manually.
