Please help with my Meren deck

Hey, just started playing magic not even a year ago. Not too familiar with all cards or even how good some are versus others. I put together a Meren of Clan Nel Toth deck but for some reason its not that great in my play group. I haven't been able to set up too much of a board presence before being over run by people who are tired of sacking their creatures. Any help would be much appreciated, so thanks in advance.
