My first EDH

Commander Deck Help forum

Hello and good day to you! =]

I've just finished making my very first EDH deck and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it, if you find the time.

I want to know if it is relatively good enough to win anything (since I want to shut up a friend who was bugging me to make one haha). But I'm relatively new to the style and I've even had to read a little about the rules before making it.

Please and Thank you.

Welcome to the format!

One of the great things about EDH is the wide variety of ways that people play. It offers something for everyone from people looking for 4 hour, 30 turn slugfests to those who want efficient and highly tuned games. This does unfortunately mean that it is a bit hard to say if a deck is "good enough".

I can say without looking at it that it is most assuredly good enough to win a game at some playgroup somewhere. As a first deck I doubt that it will win against top tier highly tuned decks unless you are a deck building savant. So, it would be helpful to see what kinds of decks you will be up against. I will put any comments that are relevant to the deck (I may not have any) on the deck page.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Thank you for the greeting and the formalitty.

I'm still not sure who else would be joining this fierce battle, but I know that one of the guys will be running a Soul Sisters style deck that'll be green and white. I lack further information though.

I guess we'll have to wait to see haha

Thank you for the comment there as well =] I'll try editing it accordingly.

In the same vein of what Gidgetimer was asking with wondering what type of decks you will be facing... how agressive are you personally looking to be? Are you trying to have a fast and consistent wincon that if uninterrupted can go off and win the game turns 2-6, or will you be trying to just play big splashy powerful cards to beat up your opponents big splashy cards. Neither way is bad, but giving advice is so much easier with a goal in mind.

GhostChieftain, I'm more inclined towards the big splashy heavy slaps. Personally, I find it fun to try to give the opponents more than what they can handle haha
