Single Episodes that Could Have Been Entire Arcs

Most episodes of most television series are standalone episodes, with self-contained stories that rarely reference other episodes of the series. However, some television series have extended arcs, with stories that span multiple episodes, helping to provide greater depth and development for the plot and characters. There have been a number of times when I have seen single episodes of television series that would have been awesome as full arcs, so this thread is to discuss single episodes that would have been awesome as full arcs.

First, in the Teen Titans animated series, there was an episode in which Blackfire, Starfire's sister, became ruler of Tamaran, and the two sisters fought. That single episode could easily have been extended into a full arc, perhaps one in which Blackfire had Tamaran invade Earth, and the titans would have needed to defend it, which would have been a great way to see more Tamaranians beyond Starfire and Blackfire fighting, and also give Starfire her own arc. In that series, every titan had numerous standalone episodes that focused on them, and every titan except for Starfire had an entire arc that focused on them, giving them great character development, which was a great tragedy, in my mind.

Second, in an episode of Jackie Chan Adventures, Jade, Jackie's niece, became evil and adopted the title of Queen of the Shadowkhan, but she was restored to her normal self at the end of the episode. I believe that that could have been an excellent arc, with Jade as a major antagonist, and the other characters seeking a way to return her to normal, but I imagine that the writers did not wish to upset the status quo of the series so drastically.

What does everyone else say about this? What are some single episodes of television series that could have been entire arcs?

Season 3 premier of The Flash, Flashpoint, should have been an arc. 4 episodes or so, two at the very minimum. But it was just the premier, and tried to do too many things in too little time and it was rushed.

Conversely, the first arc of the final season of Chuck was three episodes and it should have only been one. It's my least favorite section of the entire series and it had lasting repercussions throughout the season that ultimately led to a mildly disappointing ending. I really wish the final season had just been completely different.
