Play report Nov 9th 2015 —Nov. 10, 2015

I had the opportunity to field this deck last night in a 6-player game, facing off against another Oloro deck, Nicol Bolas, Marath, and Oros (I think).

So much happened that game that it's hard to even recount, but it was an epic 3-hour battle where I finally came out on top. At my highest, I had about 143 life, at my lowest, 1. At my highest I had about 33 cards in hand. At my lowest, I had about 3 cards left in deck. There was a Karmic Justice trigger off of Austere command destroying all my Artifacts and Enchantments which allowed me to decimate 21 of my opponents' lands. All players played valiantly, and most agreed that it was a very interesting and challenging match. My brain certainly got a workout taking on 5 opponents who were out for my head.

Good times!

Ever tried Decree of Pain? Cmc kinda sucks but insult to injury wiping creatures and card draw. Like the deck working on something similar. +1

WizLife I think at one point I did run it, but with the exception of Supreme Verdict (which is uncounterable), I am focusing more on board wipes that do something other that "Destroy", to maximize their efficacy. Tucking and Exiling are preferable to me to make sure they can handle things that are otherwise hard to deal with. I do agree that card draw in addition to destruction is a great effect, but I had to pick and choose, and it just didn't make the cut.

Thanks for the suggestion though.. I'd love to see your deck when it's posted.

As for boardwipes, I really like Rout.

Being able to wipe at instant speed takes opponents by surprise more often than not.

It doesn't really fit your requirements of doing more than just destroy things though.

Hey PercivaL, Thanks for the suggestion. I have toyed with the idea of Rout in here, but haven't tested it as of yet. If I do try it, I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes.
