This is a casual EDH Tournament, where custom made commanders are allowed. That's right:
Custom Commanders Allowed! :)
So, if you are interested, please do stay and look through the panels below.
For the tournament, the matches will be played on Untap.in, and spectators will include me, and any who would simply like to spectate. Untap.in does not require a download, however it is not tablet friendly, so it will have to be played on a desktop computer, or a laptop.
Each applicant has the equal opportunity to create a custom commander for this tournament. However, this is an optional course of action. Each player is free to choose whether they would like to use a pre-existing Magic card, or if they would like to build a custom commander. It is also recommended that participants try out building a custom commander, and if they decide they do not like the aspect of a custom commander, they are more than welcome to change to a pre-existing mtg legendary. Commander submissions can be made here on this deck page. Pictures, typed descriptions, or links will suffice for the submission itself; however, it seems some pictures have not been working lately, so a link may turn out to be the optimal way. For deck submissions, which can only include official mtg cards, can be posted on my wall.
It is entirely accepted, and encouraged that participants help others with creating or improving their commander; however, the participant who submitted the commander decides whether or not they would like to incorporate the others' advice. When an applicant wishes to finalize their decision, I myself will look over the card and make the official decision on whether or not it is acceptable play.
1.) Be kind and curteous to other participants, and to the lead organizer (myself). Treat all others with respect and dignity. Really, the best way to sum this rule up is: "Treat others how you want to be treated."
2.) Have fun you silly gooses! :P
If any participant fails to comply to the above rules, it is left up to the lead organizer, myself, to decide the consequences depending on the severity of the offense. The consequences are as follows: Fail to comply once, or minor offense will result in a warning. Failing to comply twice, or a mild offense will result in the probationary separation from the other participants: This means they will be expected to no longer comment on this page for their submission details, but will have to do so over private messaging chat with the lead organizer, me. I highly advise not failing to comply twice, as it would be boring to talk to me only about the tourney, and you get to miss out on the hype and collaborations here. The length of this probationary separation will vary depending on the decision made by the lead organizer, as such, when the probationary separation is over, that participant is welcomed back onto this page with respect and dignity. Failing to comply to the rules three times, or a major offense will result in the immediate and nonnegotiable removal from the tournament. That player is expected to leave with their dignity, but other actions will be taken if necessary. The consequences here serve both to protect all participants, protect the fun and peace, and as a precautionary action. Three times and you're out.
The tournament itself will not begin until all applicants have: a.) Finalized their commander submission and deck. b.) Their submissions have been reviewed and approved by the lead organizer, and: c.) WHEN EVERYONE IS READY TO HAVE SOME EDH FUN! Wooooooo!
A custom commander EDH tournament was originally held by The_Dragonmaster. While it is unfortunately no longer being held, give him a shoutout of thanks if you get the chance. If it weren't for him, this tourney wouldn't be here.
