I got in touch with Magic the Gathering for the first time in 1994, when I was seventeen. I went to an organized meeting of gamers (mostly roleplaying games like Shadowrun or AD&D) and me and my friends spotted some guys playing a new cardgame. We were interested and borrowed some decks from the guys to play with them. I still remember that I got a red and green weenie deck that had a bit of a focus on the first strike ability. I immediately got hooked and bought my first starter pack from the german limited edition. I played until Scourge came out and then lost interest in the game for a while so that I missed a few blocks until Rise of the Eldrazi came out. I don't know what had sparked my interest for the game again, but I've been playing MtG again since then.

After having tried out almost any format (except Vintage) the game offers I have found that I can enjoy the game the most when playing limited (mostly draft and some Sealed) or Commander. So those are the two formats I am playing most of the time. I have also built a few Modern and Legacy decks which I play occasionally.

I consider myself more of a casual player than a competitive one. I get the most joy out of multiplayer Commander games if everybody on the table is involved in the game and if the gamestate sways back and forth until someone finally manages to win. I also mostly do casual drafts with my playgroup and only seldom go to draft at my LGS.

If anybody seeks advice I will gladly try and help. I like giving advice about deckbuilding, especially for the formats I play the most, or answering MtG rules questions.

With the birth of my lovely daughter almost 10 years ago my spare time for playing Magic has been shortened to one evening every week. That's when me and the other guys from my playgroup meet for a draft or a few nice games of Commander.
