Would Phage The Untouchable's ETB effect trigger if I destroyed it as it was being played?

Title self-explanatory, but I am also wondering if in response to myself casting her I could sacrifice her.

becomes

Phage the Untouchable

Short answer yes. Phage the Untouchable ability goes on the stack as soon as it enters the battle field so destroying and/or sacing would not help much you would lose the game either way. hope this helps, happy tapping:)
