Would a Rusted Relic, cast when the player has metal craft, cause the opposing player to gain life from a Soul Warden?

I am pretty sure the answer is no, as it enters as an artifact and then becomes a creature, but could be wrong. Anyway, even if I am right my little brother won't believe me unless people on here agree. So would he gain life from the Soul Warden or not if I played a Rusted Relic and Had Metal Craft?

If you have three or more artifacts when you play Rusted Relic, its static ability does allow it to come into play as an artifact creature, so you do gain the life, although it wasn't a creature while it was in your hand. Bizarre, but true!

Does that mean you can Remove Soul a Rusted relic if it's owner has metalcraft? Or is it only from the point of entering the battlefield that it's treated as a creature?

To counter something it has to still be on the stack, as a spell, and hence has not entered the battlefield yet, and has not triggered its metalcraft ability. So you cannot remove soul a rusted relic ever, as it is not a creature when you could counter it.

Siegfried, the card text of Remove Soul says "creature spell," which a Rusted Relic is not.
The Rusted Relic is an artifact spell while it is on the stack, but because of metalcraft it can enter the battlefield as a creature.

Basically, it becomes a permanent and a "creature" at the same time, which is good enough for Soul Warden, that indiscriminating strumpet.

I believe you dont gain life because Soul Warden ruling says
10/4/2004 Does not trigger on a card on the battlefield being changed into a creature.
And Rusted Relic abillity doesnt get checked until it is on the battlefield.
