Which comes first? Scry or draw interaction

Asked by Noxxinni 8 years ago

With Smothering Abomination, Catacomb Sifter, and an Eldrazi Scion on the board, using the abominations upkeep ability to sacrifice the scion at upkeep, would I scry or draw first?

I understand that if I sacrifice for the card I will not be getting the (1)mana.

I believe you choose the way the triggers are put on the stack. You can choose to put the Smothering Abomination trigger on first, then the sifter's so you can scry then draw, or the opposite to draw then scry.

Whenever one player controls multiple triggered abilities that have triggered since the last time a player received priority, he or she puts those abilities onto the stack in the order of his or her choosing the next time a player receives priority.

So TheNextRedDude is correct. As the controller of both abilities, you choose the order in which they're put onto the stack. Remember that the topmost object on the stack resolves first, so if you put Smothering Abomination's ability onto the stack, then put Catacomb Sifter's ability above it, you'll scry and then draw.
