what exactly does hexproof save card from?

Does hexproof save from cards that "destroy target creature"?, exile, etc.

if you have a creature with hexproof, than your opponent can't do ANYTHING that "target"s that creature.

they can't destroy, bounce, exile, tap, or even give it +3/+3 so long as the spell or ability says the word "target" in the text.

Grip of Chaos will only randomize the target among legal targets. Hexproof will make the permanent an illegal target, and won't be put into the legal target "pool" when you randomize the target of the spell.
