Vindictive Lich + Inalla, Archmage Ritualist
Asked by Lycanion69 7 years ago
In the 2017 EDH spoilers we have Inalla, Archmage Ritualist (the commander) with a skill who (when you pay 1 for the cost of her skill) create a token that's a copy of a Wizard when he enters the battlefield. The token gains haste and you exile it at the beginning of the next end step he was created
And whe have Vindictive Lich who is a wizard with a skill that says When Vindictive Lich dies, choose one or more.
If the copy token is exiled does it count as him dying?

"Dying" is magic shorthand for "is put into the graveyard from the battlefield". Since the token is being exiled, it does not "die". If you sacrifice the creature or it is otherwise put into the graveyard before the exile trigger you will then get the trigger.
