Villanous Wealth casting from exile

Asked by BaBaBLaCkSHeeT 9 years ago

the question arose at a FNM an opponent casts Villanous Wealth takes counter spells and random kill cards from a control player, most were under the assumption it's only for that turn. However, the card doesn't state time restriction.

Interested in the match I continued to watch is this 100% accurate can you cast the cards for the remainder of the game? And if so is it actually free ass well? Given you cast them correctly le ur. Instant at instant speeds and sorceies etc. correctly?

Any exiled card via Villanous Wealth is castable for the entire duration of the game?

Remember to always check Gatherer, many of the common questions related to cards are going to be there.

You cast the cards one at a time as Villainous Wealth is resolving, choosing modes, targets, and so on. The last card you cast will be the first one to resolve. Ignore timing restrictions based on the cards types. Other timing restrictions, such as Cast [this card] only during combat, must be followed.

So no you can't continue to cast the spells for the remainder of the game, you need to cast them right then as you're resolving Villainous Wealth or they just stay in exile.

The cards can only be cast while Villainous Wealth is resolving. Always check Gatherer for card rulings before asking a question.

From Gatherer:

9/20/2014 You cast the cards one at a time as Villainous Wealth is resolving, choosing modes, targets, and so on. The last card you cast will be the first one to resolve. Ignore timing restrictions based on the cards types. Other timing restrictions, such as Cast [this card] only during combat, must be followed.

So no. Cards exiled with Villainous Wealth are not castable for the duration of the game.
