Vampiric Sliver Question
Asked by Not_Sure 8 years ago
Does - All Sliver creatures have "Whenever a creature dealt damage by this creature this turn dies, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature." - stack with multiple copies of Vampiric Sliver on the battlefield. For instance, I have two VS's in play and Striking Sliver triggers said ability, would it get two +1/+1 counters?
Got the 404 page not found error again in Rules Q&A, so I had to post somewhere.
Cool, just to clarify, the Striking Sliver would get two +1/+1 counters for the creature it dealt damage to entering the graveyard from multiple Vampiric Slivers

Just to be clear, having multiple instances of an ability doesn't necessarily mean that the ability stacks. For example, a Sliver with 10 instances of first strike will be no different, functionally speaking, than a Sliver with one instance of first strike because first strike does not stack.
However, triggered abilities trigger independently, so a Sliver with multiple instances of a triggered ability will generate one trigger per ability.

Browsing the comp rules should immediately tell you whether having multiple instances of an ability will accomplish anything. If it doesn't, the rules for that particular keyword will say something like:
702.7d Multiple instances of first strike on the same creature are redundant.
If it doesn't say anything like that, multiple instances stack.
All of the abilities to which this applies are, however, static abilities. Multiple instances of the same triggered ability on a card will always all trigger whenever the trigger condition is met (even if in some cases resolving the first instance will prevent the second from doing anything or even from resolving).

yes.
all things add more and more rules phrases ontop of the cards. this means if you have 10 Striking Slivers all your slivers would have "first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike first strike" .
