Twisted image and Gravitaional shift interaction

Asked by Balthasar 14 years ago

Okay So I just made a random deck I thought of In the haze of sleep meds last night. and thought of the interaction between Gravitational Shift and Twisted Image Specifically Because gavitational-shift only effect power and toughness would that carry over if you used Twisted Image ?

I don't think it would but I just wanted the Opinion of the Group mind and magic gurus.

Gravitational Shift is a static ability, so the power boost won't be transfered to toughness by Twisted Image . Sorry, dude.

Layers Questions:

(6a) effects from characteristic-defining abilities;

(6b) all other effects not specifically applied in 6c, 6d, or 6e;

(6c) changes from counters;

(6d) effects from static abilities that modify power and/or toughness but don't set power and/or toughness to a specific number or value;

(6e) effects that switch a creature's power and toughness.

Actually it appears that since Gravitational Shift is layer (6d) and Twisted Image is layer (6e)

So actually the Gravitational Shift effect will occur first then the Twisted Image will use the creatures resulting P/T.

oulani is correct. The game tracks changes made to power and toughness before it does the switching, so any time a new "creature gets +X/+Y" effect affects a creature, it makes changes to the P/T normally, "underneath" the P/T switcheroo.

Even worse than just layers. Somehow they managed to take something that's seemingly simple like "switch that number and that number, durr hurr" and make it OVERLY COMPLICATED. And THEN they make you deal with the rest of the layer structure.
