sun titan's ability and haste

so this situation came up when my buddy attacked with his Sun Titan bringing back Viashino Firstblade and declared it as an attacker. i said he couldnt bc attackers were already declared and he said he could bc it has haste. looking for some clarification please.

You were correct. All attackers must be declared simultaneously. Abilities that trigger during the declaration of attackers don't resolve until after attackers have been declared.
