Stuffy Doll -indestructible vs TRAMPLE
Asked by oltskul 12 years ago
Hi,
just to clarify myself, what happens, when i block with Stuffy Doll (indestructible blocking in general) creature with trample, for example Crash of Rhinos
sittuation: Me 10life, Tom 10life and it is not possible to cast/do anything else.
Tom attacs with his Crash of Rhinos .I block with Stuffy Doll .
Stuffy recieve all damage? Or just one DMG?
(Reminder: If this creature would assign enough damage to its blockers to destroy them, you may have it assign the rest of its damage to defending player or planeswalker.)
-- since Stuffy Doll is indestructible, then even badilion damage is not enough :)
a) Stuffy Doll blocks with one toughness one damage. Crash of Rhinos 's 7damage goes to me (3 life). Stuffy Doll redirects 1DMG to Tom?
b) Stuffy Doll blocks all damge. Crash of Rhinos 's trample doesnot goes through. Stuffy Doll redirects all 8 DMG to Tom, leaving him on 2life and I still got 10life.
IMHO a) is right, but prove me wrong maybe :)

Unfortunately for you (in this situation), A is the correct scenario. A creature that is indestructible cannot be destroyed by any amount of traditional damage, but trample doesn't care. When you assign trample damage, you account for things that modify the damage itself (e.g. deathtouch), but not* for things that modify the actual result of the damage (e.g. indestructibility).
Since Crash of Rhinos is an 8/4 and Stuffy Doll is a 0/1, the attacking player can assign 1 damage to Stuffy Doll and 7 damage to you. He or she may choose to assign more to the Stuffy Doll , but it is not necessary (or wise) to do so.
