Split Cards in Edh/Commander
Asked by ramonthebadass 10 years ago
So im in the process of making a new Edh deck and i have some questions about split cards. 1: Can i run Breaking / Entering in a Blue/Black Edh and use it only for breaking?? 2: Now lets say this Blue/Black Edh turns into a Grixis Colored one does Breaking / Entering count as 2 cards or just one?? 3: Lets say im playing with Breaking / Entering in my hand and i want to fuse them it says i can cast both halves and my opponent wants to counter does he/she counter both Breaking / Entering or do they pick which one they wish to counter??

Remember that a split card is still a single card; it just has two sets of characteristics. When it's on the stack, it's a single spell with a set of combined characteristics if fused. If it is not fused, it has only the characteristics of the half that was cast (at least until it leaves the stack).

The color identity of Breaking / Entering is UBR, so no.
Breaking / Entering counts as one card in your 99+1.
If a spell would counter Breaking / Entering , it would counter both halves.
