Spells or abilities that target opponents in Two headed Giant

Asked by aMNKYonSTEROIDS 12 years ago

In a two headed giant game, the opposing team controls four creatures total (two creatures for each player), and I have Tribute to Hunger and Sheoldred, Whispering One in my hand. I somehow managed to have the mana to play them both.

Example 1: I play Sheoldred, and my teammate and I decide to end our turn (for some reason he/she can't do anything). So it is the opposing team's turn. On their upkeep, do both players on that team each sacrifice one creature (meaning the team lost two creatures), or do they collectively decide which creature to sacrifice, and only lose one.Reminder: Sheoldred's ability reads "At the beginning of your upkeep, return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, that player sacrifices a creature."

Example 2: I play Tribute to Hunger instead of Sheoldred. Same question, does each player on that team sacrifice a creature, resulting in two loses, or do I pick one person on that team to sacrifice a creature?

Here found a good discussion on almost the same topic :-)

Epochalyptik hits it on the nail in the discussion.

But here is the gist of what I got from it, as for Tribute to Hunger it says only "target opponent" meaning you only choose one oppoenent/player to sack a creature

For Sheoldred, it says "each opponent", the team comprises of 2 opponents so they both sack only one creature.
