Silence+Staying Power?

Would having Staying Power on the field allow Silence's effect to go on indefinitely? Or would Staying Power make Silence useless?

Yes and yes. Yes to the first question, as the effect would continue for as long as Staying Power remains on the field. Yes to the second one, as Silence is a pretty useless spell when none of your friends choose to play with you anymore.
