Rust Elemental upkeep triggers

My question is this:When i Control 2 Rust Elemental ans their triggers go on the Stack at my upkeep, can I sac One Rust Elemenal to the other and thus prevent the second artifact Sacrifice? Or, since the ability is still on the Stack, will i have to sac another artifact regardless?

Whenever a triggered or activated ability goes on the stack, it will resolve independently of its source, meaning it'll resolve regardless of if its source is still on the battlefield or in the zone from which the ability came.

Even if you sac one Rust Elemental to the other's ability, the second instance will still resolve, either forcing you to sac a separate artifact or making you lose 4 life.

Abilities are independent from their sources once they are put on the stack. Because of the wording of Rust Elemental, you are required to sac an artifact. Therefore, regardless of whether you sacrifice the elementals, you WILL sacrifice two artifacts.
