Rubblebelt Raiders Trigger Question.
Asked by usarapls 11 years ago
I recently created a Gruul Post Rotation deck, and I am unsure of what happens when there are two Rubblebelt Raiders on the field. The wording "Whenever Rubblebelt Raiders attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it for each attacking creature you control." Only adds to my confusion, because when it says "Rubblebelt Raiders" is it referring to only the individual card, or the actual card name. Because if it were referring to the name only then if you had two Rubblebelt Raiders, it would get +2/+2 for each counter instead of +1/+1. Or does it just see the second Rubblebelt Raider as another attacking creature, making the trigger not stack?
Both abilities will trigger but, as Dritz said, the Rubblebelt Raiders ' ability refers to itself, the card on which it is printed.
When you attack with two of them and no other creatures, each one's ability goes on the stack in an order of your (the active player's) choosing. When each resolves, you control two attacking creatures, so it puts two +1/+1 counters on the respective Rubblebelt Raiders .
Dritz says... Accepted answer #1
Whenever a card uses its own name in that way it is referring to that particular permanent. Each Rubblebelt Raiders ' ability operates entirely independently of the other.
