Quicksmith rebel and isochron scepter

Asked by Mairon_Bauglir 7 years ago

I have a question to ask about how Quicksmith Rebel and Isochron Scepter interact with each other. When Quicksmith Rebel imprints on target artifact, does the tap effect it gives the artifact interact as a separate effect or does it happen whenever that artifact is tapped? Such as I imprinted Isochron Scepter on a instant, so that whenever i tap that scepter for the spell, it also simultaneously deal 2 damage to the opponent, or do they act as separate effects on the same artifact?

If you choose to put Quicksmith Rebel's ability onto an Isochron Scepter, you must choose which ability on Isochron to activate, either Isochron's native ability or the ability it gained because of Rebel. The is like a cost to activate the ability, it only counts toward a single activation.

In order for Isochron to have the interaction you are wanting, the ability Rebel gives would have to say something like "Whenever this card is tapped, it may deal 2 damage to target creature or player".
