Questions about flashback
Asked by WalzY 12 years ago
Is flashback counterable my counter-spells? I assume yes but would like to confirm.
Is flashback sorcery speed by default (i.e. without alchemist's refuge etc.). For example, if a sorcery speed card has flashback, may I only cast it during my main phases on my turn, or is it instant speed? ... or is it simply the same speed as is printed on the card when casting it normally (i.e. instant speed card = instant speed flashback; sorcery speed card = sorcery speed flashback)

Correct. Also, one additional piece of information, though it might already be clear to everyone. If a spell that has been flashed back gets countered, it still gets exiled.

Just to expound a bit more, flashback is an alternate cost for the source card. Since it's only an alternate cost (rather than an activated ability), you still follow the normal casting process. That means you have to abide by timing restrictions and any effects that change the total casting cost of your spell.

Any spell that has been flashed back can be countered by any spell or ability that could normally counter it. A spell with flashback can be cast any time you could normally cast that spell, so Think Twice can be flashed back at instant speed.
