protection fro artifacts?

if a creature has protection from artifacts (i.e. Tel-Jilad Fallen ) can it hold any kind of equipment?

No.

Protection is DEBT. The permananent with protection from X cannot be:

• Damaged by X
• Enchanted/equipped by X
• Blocked by X
• Targeted by X

Equipping a creature with protection from artifacts fails on both T and E.
