No Mercy spell in two headed giant??

Asked by ImNora 1 year ago

How do cards like No Mercy work when we share a life pool? If my opponent specifically attacks my teammate, not me, and deals damage, does that count as damage to me since we share the same life pool? Does that then trigger No Mercy?

Here is a link to the deck (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/two-headed-control-nightmare/?cb=1666990945) in case you wanna check it out. It's a work in progress and recommendations are appreciated! FYI it's for commander style two headed giant matches at my LGS. It's intended to be a weird Full Support deck.

Damage dealt to your teammate doesn't count as damage dealt to you. In Two-Headed Giant, damage, life loss and life gain happen to a player individually and then the results are applied to the team's shared life total. The rules about this used to work a little differently in the past, but this is how it is currently.
