Morph and Flicker abilities

Asked by rivarpab 12 years ago

If I have a face-down morph creature, let's say, Titanic BulvoxMTG Card: Titanic Bulvox, and I use CloudshiftMTG Card: Cloudshift on it, does it come into play face down, or face up?

Face up. Nothing is changing how the card re-enters the field here, so it enters as it normally would. Face up, unflipped, untapped, phased in.

It would enter exactly as it was when you cast CloudshiftMTG Card: Cloudshift. If Titanic BulvoxMTG Card: Titanic Bulvox is a face down 2/2 creature, it returns as a faced down 2/2 creature.

No. It enters as it normally would. When objects change zones they do not remember their previous existence. The Titanic Bulvox you return is not the same one as the one that left, and it enters the battlefield as it normally would since nothing is saying otherwise. And permanents normally enter Untapped, Face up, Phased in, Unflipped (and sunny side up if a DFC)

110.6b Permanents enter the battlefield untapped, unflipped, face up, and phased in unless a spell or ability says otherwise.
