Maze of ith after combat damage

Asked by PotatoPi 11 years ago

Could I use Maze of Ith 's ability after combat damage has been dealt to untap one of my creatures?

You can, but it won't retroactively nullify the damage that has already been dealt. It will untap your creature and remove it from combat, though.

Sorry, the creature remains in combat. It doesn't really matter, though.

I thought you couldnt do anything between normal strike damage and 2nd main phase though.

That's incorrect. Players must pass priority in succession to advance the game state to the next step or phase. During these priority passes, players can cast spells and activate abilities.

There's also an end of combat step that comes between the combat damage step and the second main phase.
