Mana ability question
Asked by ekeller91 9 years ago
So I didn't know which forum to place this in so I'm trying here. I was curious about the ability of Harabaz Druid. The ability says "T: add X mana of any one color to your mana pool, where X is the number of Allies you control." So my question, if I have five Allies on the battlefield and I cast a spell that costs three mana, can I cast a spell that cost two mana to use up the rest of Harabaz Druid ability?

If you still meet the color requirements and you don't change phases (combat phase to second main, for example) then yeah, that's totally ok.

The Q&A section is where this belongs good sir. Also, remember to link cards in your question: Harabaz Druid
of course you can. As long as you're still in the same step or phase when you tapped her for mana. That mana is in your mana pool and can be used to cast spells, activate abilities, or pay for costs.

I play with Harabaz Druid in my General Tazri's Allies EDH deck. Great card.
You tap Harabaz to add one colour of mana to your pool equal to the number of Allies on the field that you control.
You can spend that mana however you see fit.

"106.4. When an effect produces mana, that mana goes into a players mana pool. From there, it can be used to pay costs immediately, or it can stay in the players mana pool. Each players mana pool empties at the end of each step and phase."
TlDr: Yes. You tap Harabaz Druid for her ability. the mana goes in your mana pool. you then distribute as desired.
